3 up & 3 down - Week 9
Here are the guys who came to play.
Jose Guilen had a nice week for the Mariners - .375 average, 2 home runs, 11 rbis and 5 runs scored. He is probably available in your league and would be a nice pickup until his next slump hits.
Chone Figgins had his most productive week of the year. His .500 average 3 stolen bases and 5 runs scored were rewarding to the owners who stuck by him.
Another Diamondback pitcher had a nice week which is not suprising if you have noticed where they are in the standings. Doug Davis picked up 2 wins while posting a 1.15 ERA and 1.02 WHIP. He struck out 11 in 15 and 2/3 innigs.
These guys did not.
Carlos Zambrano continues to have poor weeks but his one topped them all. Not only did he not record a strike out in 5 innings but he also gave up 6 earned runs, 13 hits and 2 walks. Oh, and he beat up his catcher in the clubhouse.
Carl Crawford had a lackluster week. 3 hits in 24 at bats, 0 stolen bases and 2 rbis. His lack of stolenbases this year has to be a concern for him owners.
Todd Helton has been raking so far this season, and under the radar at that, but this past week he managed only 3 hits in 20 at bats. One of those hits was a home run, which he hasn’t had as many yet, but most owners have him for the average and rbis than the homeruns.
