Studs & Duds - Week 6
The Week 5 picks were good, not great but good.
Studs
Chase Utley was a bit of a disappointment, no home runs, sub .300 average and only 1 stolen base hardly makes him a stud.
Manny Ramirez was a stud, just not with guys on base. He hit 2 home runs, but only 4 rbis and 2 runs(which were brought in by himself). The .429 average however makes him a stud for the week.
Bartolo Colon did not pitch great against the Royals but he got the win. He was shuting out the White Sox in his second appearance until he was pulled due to injury. He could be considered a stud for his performance against the White Sox but the injury takes him out of that distinction.
Duds
In his first start of the year Victor Zambrano only pitched 2 2/3 innings and gave up 2 runs while walking 3 and striking out 1. Not that anyone would have started him but this solidifies that his time as a starter may be over.
Ryan Zimmerman did nothing for the Nationals offense last week. His .259 avg, 0 hr, 0 rbis, 2 runs, 2 stolen bases make him a dud for the week.
David Wright had some “success” this past week. He did hit 2 home runs and drove in 5 but his .176 average is not what his owners expect from this top tier third baseman.
Week 6
Our Stud predictions for week 6.
Troy Glaus is making up for missed time, and he will be facing the D-Rays at the end of the week.
Mark Texeria can’t keep underacheiving and should continue to heat up as the weather does down in Texas.
Mark Hendrickson will get two starts this week and will be facing two good offences. The Marlins and Reds strikeout a lot though, look for Hendrickson to take advantage.
And now the Duds
Tim Wakefield has faced the Blue Jays twice this season and the third time will be the charm for the Toronto offense.
Paul Konerko has struggled so far, this week will not be any different
Chipper Jones has been playing like the Chipper of old, but he is still the old Chipper. He faces a very good Padre and Pirate staff this week. It will be a down week for him.
