Studs & Duds - Week 4

Last weeks Studs and Duds….

Studs

Rickie Weeks scored 7 runs, had 1 home run, 4 Rbis and 3 stolen bases making him a stud at second base.

Ryan Theriot was a stud getting 17 hits, scoring 8 runs, driving in 4, and stealing 5 bases. He made a lot of owners happy.

Ramon Ortiz wasn’t a stud but he didn’t hurt teams either. He picked up a win, had a 3.21 ERA, and a 1.07 WHIP but the 4 ks don’t make him a stud.

Duds

Fernando Rodney gave up 2 runs in 3 innings while striking out 3.

Alfonso Soriano was hurt most of this past week, which means he didn’t do anything for you. Dud

Miguel Tejada went 11/23 with 5 runs and 5 rbis, not a bad week and definately not a dud.

4 for 6 again this week but Ortiz was only a few strikeouts short of qualifying.

Week 4 Studs

Jimmy Rollins has been a stud so far this season and with Washington and Florida look for this to continue.

Kelly Johnson has been on fire and will be facing Florida and Colorado this week. He will continue to produce out of the second base slot.

Jake Peavy may only get one start this week but it will be against the poor hitting Diamondbacks. Look for him to produce a double digit strikeout appearance.

Duds

Dan Haren has been the Man so far this season but he will be facing the streaking Orioles and the offensively dangerous D-Rays.

Michael Young has struggled so far and it doesn’t look like he will be breaking out any time soon.

Jermaine Dye will be facing good pitching this week against Detroit and Anaheim, his slump will continue.
