Studs & Duds - Week 11
A look at our Week 10 predictions.
Studs
Vladamir Guerrero did not have a good week. His .240 average is less than stellar, he did drive in 6 runs though so it wasn’t a terrible week.
Prince Fielder had a tremendous week. He hit 4 homeruns, drove in 7, scored 7 runs and hit for a .375 average. He had a very studly week.
C.C. Sabathia pitched a complete game and the first nine innings of an extra innings game with the Reds giving up no runs. He only got one run of support however and got 1 win. He struck out 14 in those 18 innings while only giving up 8 hits and 1 walk. He was a stud.
Duds
Dan Wheeler may have lost his closer role during this week. He did pick up 2 saves but also blew a save, not a terrible week if you need saves. It does appear he is loosing his role however which makes it a dud week.
Derek Jeter ended up with a nice little week. His .296 average was not great but not bad. He did pick up a stolen base which has become a rarity for him this season. His value came in the form of runs which he racked up 11 of them during the Yankees explosion of offense last week.
Adrian Beltre only played in 2 full games last week. He had 1 hit in 9 at bats but did manage 2 runs scored.
Studs
These guys will be putting up some big numbers in Week 11.
Bobby Abreu has found his swing and getting hits. He might not hit many homeruns but a good average, some stolen bases and a lot of runs should be expected.
Brendan Harris is probably available in your league and if you can fit him in your lineup you should. The Devil Rays offense keeps going and he will continue to be a big part of it.
Brandon Inge is healthy and seeing the ball well right now. He won’t perform well all season but the next week or two should be some good ones.
Duds
These guys will not….
Derek Lee will be finishing the week against the Padres, he will struggle.
Carlos Beltran is still feeling the effects of his knee injury, he will get back on track but not this week.
J.J. Hardy has hit the wall. If you have a replacement for him(Brendan Harris) you should plug him in this week.
