The situation at SS this year is a bit more complicated that at face value. No matter how you would like to rank the top three players, they will all provide you with monster numbers and be taken within the first 20 picks of every draft. If you like to draft and fill middle infield, all three are great selections and I don’t think any are particular risks in terms of position of draft vs. value.

This is another solid selection of players that will provide great value in the draft. Provided you are not in a position where you take any of the top tier players you should have quite a few rounds to make these value picks. Try not to jump on Jeter or Tejada too quickly as the top three might create an urgency to get a solid SS.

SS has developed into quite a deep position in fantasy over the last few years and there could be quite a few players on this list that will be huge contributors in a Utility slot. Peralta, Furcal, and Lugo all have the potential to be in the Mid Top grouping but drafted much later. Escobar, Betancourt, and Drew could potentially take their game to the next level this year. So, in a shallow league if they are not drafted, be sure to keep an eye on them early in the year, especially if someone is droppable on your team. They are definitely worth a bench spot in a deeper league.
