Andy Sonnanstine
Sleeper: Andy Sonnanstine Sonnanstine won’t be the great pick that saved your fantasy team in 2008. But, he’ll be a great pickup when everyone else is scrambling for back up hitters and relievers who may close at some point. He doesn’t “wow” you with his flashiness. But he does do a great job of keeping runners off base. Last year he posted a BB/9 rate of 1.79. Although his K/9 rate wasn’t very impressive (6.68), his K/BB of 3.73 is very respectable. Perhaps most importantly was the fact that his BABIP was .333. Recalling the work that has been done on this subject, it is more than reasonable to expect this number to decrease next year making him less hittable and a better fantasy pitcher.
