Matt LaPorta took a ball off the arm yesterday & was taken out. I don’t expect this to keep him out of the lineup beyond today.
Callix Crabbe, the Padres Rule 5 pick from the Milwaukee Brewers was designated for assignment.
Tony Butler was placed on the DL with minor tendinitis. Not a major issue.
Ian Kennedy will be called up of course.
Jed Lowrie was optioned to Triple-A.
Brandon Wood was optioned to Triple-A.
Joe Thatcher was optioned to Triple-A by the Padres.
Glendon Rusch was demoted to Triple-A…this is something that probably should have happened four years ago.
