MLB Draft coverage begins tomorrow so today I’m going to preface the coverage with a little bit of information about how we’re covering the draft so you know where the knowledge is coming from.

First, I’ll be going through pick by pick & analyzing what the teams might be looking to do. Then I’ll provide a few guys they are likely targeting and select who I think they’ll take. Periodically I’ll review the list & make a few changes. There will be one page that is added to every day that will contain all the selections. The daily updates will take place on the front page as a blog entry. Tomorrow I’ll look at the Rays & Pirates.

Our knowledge comes primarily from other sources. Obviously with the complexity of the draft & wide selection of players, personally seeing each player is impossible with our setup. However, thanks to the miracle of Dish Network, I have been able to see many of the top college players. What I write about different players is largely based on information that is readily available on the internet. Some will be based in personal contacts & some will be based in personal experience. I will typically note when a comment is something I have observed.
